Refund Policy

UCSD Enhanced Viewer ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that enhances the podcast.ucsd.edu website. We want every student to have a fair experience. This policy explains when refunds are available, how to request one, and what to expect.

Digital Product — No General Refunds

Because UCSD Enhanced Viewer Plus is a digital subscription delivered instantly upon purchase, we generally do not offer refunds for change-of-mind or "I forgot to cancel" situations. Once your subscription is activated you have immediate access to all Plus features, so please make sure the extension meets your needs before subscribing. A free tier with limited AI summaries is available for this reason.

When You Are Eligible for a Refund

Product-breaking bugs

If a bug in the extension prevents you from using a core Plus feature (e.g., AI summaries consistently fail, the extension crashes your browser) and we are unable to resolve it within a reasonable timeframe, you are entitled to a full refund for the current billing period.

Duplicate or accidental charges

If you were charged more than once for the same billing period, or if an obvious billing error occurred, we will refund the duplicate amount promptly.

Service unavailability

If our servers experience extended downtime (more than 72 consecutive hours) that prevents you from using Plus features during your paid period, you may request a prorated refund or account credit for the affected days.

What Is Not Refundable

  • Change of mind after using Plus features during the billing period.
  • Forgetting to cancel before a renewal date — you can cancel anytime from your LemonSqueezy account to prevent future charges.
  • Dissatisfaction with AI summary quality — AI outputs vary by lecture content and are provided as-is.
  • Issues caused by third-party services outside our control (e.g., UCSD changing their podcast platform, Google Gemini outages).

How to Request a Refund

Email us at anhp.dev@gmail.com with:

  1. Your account email (the one used at checkout).
  2. A brief description of the issue you experienced.
  3. Any screenshots or error messages that help us understand the problem.

We aim to respond within 2 business days. If approved, refunds are processed through LemonSqueezy and typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.

What Happens After a Refund

Once a refund is processed, your Plus subscription is cancelled immediately and your account reverts to the free tier. You will retain access to all free features (video player, playlists, transcripts, dark mode, etc.) but will lose access to unlimited AI summaries and other Plus-only features.

Cancelling Your Subscription

You can cancel your Plus subscription at any time from your LemonSqueezy account portal. After cancellation, you keep Plus access through the end of your current billing period. No further charges will be made.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
